About the Firm

Based in Philadelphia, Pepper Hamilton is a law firm established since the 1980s. The firm was founded by George Wharton Pepper and has progressed ever since on the principals set by him. Pepper Hamilton has now grown into a firm with 11 offices all over the country and more than 500 attorneys working on countless cases regarding anything and everything. The firm deals with any problem a client is facing and requires legal help other than specializing into one or two segments and creating a niche. However, Pepper Hamilton is known the most for their remarkable work in medical manufacturing devices and pharmaceuticals.

Over the time, Pepper Hamilton has emerged as one of the largest 100 law firms in the United States in terms of revenue generation. The firm had merged with another prominent law firm of Philadelphia in 1954 and became known as Pepper, Bodine, Frick, Scheetz, and Hamilton. It turned into an entity of 35 lawyers but Pepper had to retire from practice only a short while after the merger due to his ill health. Thereon, he served as the chairman of Pepper Hamilton. The beginning of 1960 led the firm to another merger with the Moffett, Frye & Leopold. The merger proved to be highly beneficial to Pepper Hamilton and the firm grew dramatically. One of the partners of the firm, Michael Pratt, became the Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 2008 and served as the 81th chancellor to assume office of the association since its inauguration in 1802.

Pepper Hamilton saw a change in the chairperson in 2007 when a woman was selected to assume the role for the first time ever in the history of the firm, that too via elections. Nina M. Gussack served the firm to her fullest and took it to a new level of success making it one of the top 100 firms to generate noticeable revenues.
